Spring at The Treehouse

Spring

Spring is finally upon us and yet it’s not quite as we know it…or is it?

As we’re all trying to adjust to the lockdown which has brought its own difficulties – not least missing family, friends and colleagues – spring is truly more upon us than previously imagined. Sleeping with the bedroom window open means being woken up earlier by the beautiful and orchestral dawn chorus more usually drowned out by the morning commute.

And how clean the air feels on our daily outdoor excursion for exercise.

And because there’s less of a rush at the moment how much more are we noticing things around us…the beautiful cherry blossom, the garden tulips, birdsong…nature moving itself to the front of the queue.

We are being kinder to those we don’t know, yet respecting their space, finding solidarity within our communities and having an even greater respect for those that are putting the lives and wellbeing of others before their own.

We all seem to be keeping in greater touch with friends and loved ones more than usual – albeit over screentime and hopefully listening more and being creative with the time we have with those we are lucky to live with.

Lifestyle is something we all interpret differently but one thing that does bring us all together is food – whether around the dining table or sharing our cooking and wine evenings on Zoom. So here at The Treehouse we’ve taken to doing a bit more baking and creative thinking around mealtimes. That also got us thinking that the usual Spring Clean has now become a form of daily exercise so we have the time now to sit back with that cup of coffee and a muffin or a glass of wine and a cheeseboard to think about what home improvements we’d all love to make to our houses and gardens when we can safely do so.

Keep safe, get creative and keep in touch.
